Brainstorming Techniques – Dabbling in Your Own Business

Before we delve into brainstorming techniques, we should talk about how to do brainstorming in the first place. In order to be successful at brainstorming, you need to know how to think. Start by setting out a project description, and when you have your project description completed, go back and write down all the ways that you can think of that relate to the project description.

Whenever you come up with an idea, take a moment to consider all the ways you can re-write that thought or problem. It is important to ask yourself: what is the biggest problem, or what is the best problem I can imagine that I would like to solve, and where do I think I could find information on it?

After brainstorming techniques, how to make a very good start to this process is to open a notebook and start jotting down ideas as they come to you. I like to use three index cards as my brainstorming pads. The first card has a title of the idea; the second card has a short summary of the idea; and the third card has the end of the sentence to confirm if the idea is correct.

I’ve written a lot about non-traditional brainstorming methods, and this method fits in well with that because it encourages people to come up with lots of different ideas from lots of different perspectives. If you are an entrepreneur, or even if you are just someone who likes to brainstorm as a hobby, then this method can work for you.

Another way people have tried to brainstorm is with a single card with a different idea on each card. This can be a little time consuming, but as long as you can find enough cards, you will probably find something that will spark your interest. It is important to write down as many ideas as you can before you throw away the cards.

The traditional way to brainstorm is with an index card that lists several different ideas in one column. I still like to use this method, because I find it interesting to see where various ideas can go. You don’t have to worry about writing them down; people generally just jot them down on the index cards.

One of the problems with brainstorming is that you can’t seem to figure out the big picture. Once you begin to consider all the things that you can do to improve a situation, and then you can work on the details that make it better.

It can be a challenge to come up with really innovative brainstorming techniques because often we run into the same old problems over again. The challenge with brainstorming is that you are forced to come up with a solution.

When you are doing brainstorming, one of the best brainstorming techniques I’ve found is to do a series of exercises. For example, when I am having trouble finding a topic for a new product, I like to bring in all the people I know who have products that are related to the problem and ask them to try to come up with a new product idea. Then I try to think of other people who might have similar interests in the product, and I ask them to include those interests in their own product idea.

After the brainstorming exercises, you might find that the people who originally came up with the most ideas for a product is not the best candidate for the job. In order to make sure that you are going to get a real, honest answer, you might want to include an entire list of questions to consider before you hire them. This will give you some idea of what the real questions might be, and it will make you feel a little more comfortable with the decision.

After you have a list of interesting people to think about, it’s best to start thinking about how to incorporate their unique idea into your current product or service. After you think about the potential benefits of incorporating the new idea, you can ask yourself if you have enough resources and manpower to handle the task, and you can keep all the people who came up with the original idea in the loop.

That is one of the biggest advantages of brainstorming techniques because you don’t have to limit yourself to your knowledge. You are using the creative juices to find something that nobody else has thought of, and you are not relying on your own intuition.
